Stacey Yvonne Abrams, also known as Stacey Abrams, is an American politician, lawyer, and author who serves as the House Minority Leader and State Representative for Georgia’s 89th House District.

Stacey Abrams was chosen for a Telluride Association Summer Program while attending Avondale High School. When she was in high school, she was appointed as a typist for a congressional campaign, and when she was 17 years old, she was hired as a speechwriter based on her edits while typing. In 1995, Abrams graduated from Spelman College with a Bachelor of Arts in interdisciplinary studies (political science, economics, and sociology).
